The Castle retains the warmth and character of a coaching inn and the Regency Ballroom, with the adjoining remains of the Great Hall of Brecon Castle, is undoubtedly the most attractive and historic venue in Mid-Wales. The Brecon Beacons dominate the town and provide a picturesque backdrop to our ballroom and our gardens.

Our Head Chef, Derrick John Parsons , produces a menu which represents the best of seasonal International cooking. Modern and traditional dishes sit comfortably alongside each other, all freshly prepared, using the best of locally sourced meat, fish and Welsh cheeses.

At Brecon Castle we believe in procuring the finest quality ingredients in order to ensure that we can serve food which is a real experience. We also take great pride in sourcing as much as we can from Wale's finest larder: the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons of Mid-Wales. From traditional suppliers to entrepreneurial newcomers, Mid-Wales now offers an unrivalled selection of the finest speciality food and drink.
